ISIAC and COPIAMC 2027

In 2027 two satellite conferences of ICPEAC, the ISIAC and COPIAMC will be held as a joint symposium in Frankfurt.

Scope and Mission

The International Symposium on Ion-Atom Collisions (ISIAC) is a biennial satellite of the International Conference on Photonic, Electronic and Atomic Collisions (ICPEAC). This year the ICPEAC35 will be held shortly after the ISIAC and COPIAMC in Hamburg, Germany

The 30th ISIAC brings together world-leading experts in the field of atomic collision physics involving heavy projectiles (ions). The scope includes the following topics:

  • Fundamental processes in ion-atom and ion-molecule collisions
  • Ion-surface and ion-solid interactions
  • Fragmentation of molecules and clusters
  • Ion-biomolecule interactions
  • Laser-assisted collisions
  • Atomic collision processes
  • New developments, techniques and instrumentation
  • Applications, including hadron therapy

Previous ISIAC meetings were held in Kyoto (2025), Rolla (2023), online (2021), Paris (2019), Palm Cove (2017), Barcelona (2015), Beijing (2013), Caen (2011), Norfolk (2009), Agios Nikolaos (2007), Rio de Janeiro (2005), …

Previous COPIAMC meetings were held in Tokyo (2025), Toronto (2023), online (2021), Metz (2019). It merged into a single scientific event from two symposia that were held in parallel in Palm Cove (2017), San Sebastian (2015), Hefei (2013), Dublin (2011), Lexington (2009), Königstein (2007), Buenos Aires (2005), ….

The 24th International Symposium on Correlation, Polarization and Ionization in Atomic and Molecular Collisions (COPIAMC 2027) is an official satellite meeting of the 35th International Conference on Photonic, Electronic, and Atomic Collisions (ICPEAC 2027).

The 24th COPIAMC satellite provides the opportunity to attend high-level specialized talks covering a broad range of hot topics in atomic and molecular physics. Among others, the following areas of research will be discussed:

  • Many-body interactions and electron-electron correlation effects in single and multiple ionization processes.
  • Alignment and polarization effects in excitation and charge transfer processes.
  • Correlation and polarization effects in multiphoton ionization of atoms and molecules.
  • Correlations and coherence in the interaction of intense and short-pulsed radiation with gas-phase species.
  • Correlated motion in photodissociation processes.
  • Coherence effects in multielectron excitation.
